Communities

Our communities ministry exists to break

cycles of poverty and sex-trafficking

with the transforming love of Jesus

Our Communities ministry is an outreach ministry that focuses on disrupting the cycles of poverty that lead to prostitution. In Brazil, over 11 million people live in the slums—places marked by poverty, vulnerability, and exploitation. Recife alone is home to more than half a million people in these conditions, making it one of the most sex-trafficked cities in the nation. Poverty exists where the enemy has come in to steal, kill, and destroy. Poverty becomes the breeding ground where desperation is exploited, and children are often treated as commodities.

Our Communities ministry exists to break these cycles at the root. We bring the hope of the gospel into the heart of the favelas, building relationships that point to the transforming love of Jesus. Week after week, we return—not just with food or programs, but as family. We worship together, play together, and disciple young hearts. Sometimes we see miracles. Always, we see God moving.

Because when poverty loses its grip, dignity is restored—and the lie that prostitution is the only way out begins to lose its power.
