Shores Philly

Shores of Grace Philadelphia is a street ministry that brings love and the Good News of the Gospel to those in need in the neighborhoods of Philadelphia, PA through food, worship and relationships. It has been a wonderful year of change and growth at Shores of Grace Philadelphia!  
 

In April 2026, Todd and Joanna traveled to Brazil to the Shores of Grace base.  We had beautiful encounters on the streets of Recife, during prayer and intercession and at the Father’s Love Banquet.  We learned so much about ministry and how to love others well.  We were able to bring back some fresh, new ideas and Holy Spirit fire! Upon returning, the Lord sent us new volunteers and we were able to add some worship to our time in Hope Park.  We plan to continue with this when the weather warms and Todd’s fingers won’t freeze!

 

In the spring, we were gifted a beautiful picnic table that belonged to our neighbor who passed away December 2024.  Todd repurposed it by adding folding legs and we now bring it to the park so people have a place to sit and talk while they eat.  Cathy and James started bringing checkers and chess and we have had some lively games.  It is a wonderful reminder that there is always room at the Father’s table.

In November we took turkey, stuffing and cranberry hoagies to Hope Park and enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal.  Then in December we took gifts of a backpack filled with a new hat, gloves, socks, a Hershey bar and hot hands.  We also had stone cross necklaces, beautiful cookies from Lil Andy’s Sweet Treats and hot chocolate.  We used an Amazon wishlist to help a family give new bedding and gifts to their children.  This winter, we took a hot meal of homemade chili and cornbread to the weekly outreach.  We filled many bellies and warmed people up!  All of these activities opened doors for deeper relationships and the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with others.  We have such a good Father, it is a delight to share Him!​

We are so grateful to have the consistent support of churches local to Philadelphia and members of the surrounding communities.  They are what keep the ministry going through prayer and donations of time, food, clothing and supplies.

As we move forward continuing to say “yes” to what God asks of us, we are expectant about what God has planned.  We are developing relationships with new churches, welcoming many new community volunteers and looking forward to another trip to Brazil to learn more from the thriving ministry there.  We thank each of you for your prayers, your donations, and your time.  You are the reason we are able to change the atmosphere and share Jesus in such a beautiful way.  Thank you!
